Query on price for calibra turbo from abroad
Hello calibra fans,
I am just wondering, if is possible to sell calibra turbo 93, registred in Czech republic, here in Norway and how much can be the price. I don't want to pay register tax for that, so sell it for spare parts or if some one want to register.
There is overhouling on whole engine (new forget pistons wossner) and turbo and 4x4 (new disks in multi-disk clutch and simering for piston - no leakage). Stainless steel exhaust (middle part + catalyzer and rear part).Everything approx. 3000km ago. New silentblocks in all arms and new bearing on all 4 wheels. New (few months) orig. Irmscher springs.
Body is also renew and painted, but the work of repairer is not 100%, there remain some rusted places
.
Some pictures you can see on below listed links

hi! yes its very possible, but, as ypu mentioned, the register tax will be sky high, looks like it is a rather new car (?) so the tax may be around 100.000 nok. But there are a lot of people, especially on this forum, that are very interested in such a calibra
one of them is me.
have you come up with a price for the car?

to Klodrik: I think that the tax is approx. 50k nok + vat and that's really crazy
.
Mechanical part are as new car, I didn't touch just gearbox, but body as I said is not good repaired and leather interior is also not very nice (I've got another velur or what is it).
And price, that's the question. I don't know how much I can say .I know that nobady pay me everything I've paid.

Hello again, I didn't want to create new tread for small question so I use this one for it. I saw many times in advertisement, that peoples changed engine for ex. BMW 520i they put M5 engine and in text has been written that car is registered in norway over 10 years so it can be approved with this engine for free. So I am wondering how it is with calibras? If I find nice 4x4 N/A which is registered here in Norway, is any official way to upgrade it on Turbo?
Thanks for answer and sorry for Englis, I've started norwegian course yesterday
so still not good in it

http://www.toll.no/templates_TAD/Topic.aspx?id=196340&epslanguage=no here I found this, and it looks like there is no fee when the car is in norway over 10 years. But do I need any approvement from Opel than?

This is correct!
You need to get an calibra that have been in norway over 10 years.
The rest is piece of cake. just go to your local opel dealer and get approvmentpapers and talk to the (norwegian) biltilsynet.
Sorry my bad english

It is leagal to upgrade a Calibra 4x4 to 4x4 Turbo. You can buy documentation from your local Opel dealer that state that the car is approved as 4x4 Turbo. Then you take the documentation and your car to the DVLA. Just one thing, it have to be a 4x4, 2wd are only possible to upgrade to V6

You can sel your car as a "parts car"
Sell onley for parts. Then there are some payments that you dont have to pay becouse off that. But then the buyer can never registrer the car as norwegen. The buyer can onley use the parts from your car to sell them or use them on a alreddy norwegen car. Thats what i had to do with my calibra from polen. So that one can never be norwegen unless i want to pay loads off tax in polend and norway.
If you understand norwegen im writing it in norwegen also so that if there is somthing you dont understand you can se it there.
Du kan selge bilen som "del bil". Selge for bare deler.

thanks to all for answers.
to TnT: don't worry nothing is worse than my english
to Dj_Devil: so in my case I can bring the car just for spare parts if I find any already registered 4x4 N/A.
I am going for the car next week and then I'll see. There are 3 version, sell the car whole as is for spare parts, or break it up and sell or find some cheap turbo or na 4x4 registered here.
Thanks guys

Norway is very strict when it comes to this. You cannot do anything to a vehicle if it hasn't been done legally before (paperwork needed). Everything about the "new" car has to be documented. Exhaust emitions is a big issue.

to Jckf: yes understand, but in Czech R. is almost imposible to change just 8v to 16v and can imagine to try to get approved so big changes
if Exhast emitions is a big issue than swapping engine from old kadett for new one from calibra should be better for enviromet I beleve. But I don't want to do anything like this (yet), I am just curious as I wrote.
Thanks

if you get an alreddy registered norwegen car you can use that car yes. But onley if its the same car. Becouse if its from 8v to 16v you need paperes. And i think more if its from 4x4 8v to 4x4 16v turbo. But i think others here on the forum know alot more then me in this area.

It's combination of car and engine that has to be documented. So if a Calibra never came with the engine you want to put in it, the documents won't exists and you will have to have a lab test your car. This is expensive.

to Dj_Devil: so in case when I import it for spare parts the customs take me my car Czech papers away? So I can't use it later for conversion anymore?
to Jckf: ok the same we have in CR, when it is not approved by pruducer of the car than should go through several tests and measurement.

Hi guys,
so car is already here in Norway, next week I have to go to custom office to pay VAT, but funny is that I have to find out the price of the car. Where the h*ll I shall find it? I've owned the car since 2005 and have no idea where to find a price (I don't even have an invoice from 2005 when I bought the car). Does anyone have any experience with that?
I though that customs will have some table prices, but probably thay don't.

Whatever the price that car is in norway u`ll prolly pay twice the worth of the car just to get it registered here. Eg. -92 turbo org 204bhp 4x4 45k nok = 90k ish. If the importcalculators are correct.

to Tommen: thanks for reply, I've meant just VAT (or MOMs in norwegian?), not tax for fully registering car, I know that it is bloody high in my case maybe 3 times higher than the car price

When you bring a car to Norway you usually pay 25% of the purchase-price in "MOMS" In your case I guess you need to come up with an estimated value. Any how, the customs should already have a rutine on this.

Haug Racing: thanks for reply, yes you're right, when I buy the car and import it than I know the price. The custom officer at a ferry dock told me that I should come up with the current price of the car or they'll estimate it from some internet advertising servers in Czech R. (sounds crazy because prices on the internet doesn't mean that the people are buying it for this price
). So let surprise my self, I'll go to local custom office tomorrow.

damn so I visited www.bruktbilpris.no and paid 500 for raport and get price 24000,- So it seems I'll pay for my own car 6000,- for VAT. I love this country but regarding cars it is insane

Tell us more about the car. What is wrong? Rust? Does it have any modifications?
Kadel -

yes rust, rear right mudguard, something on right front mc-person housing and on other side where is diagnostic connector (can take some pictures when I'll be at home. over painting is also not so perfect as should be.
Mods: nothing special, there has been installed forged pistons, overhauled turbo and 4x4 clutch (new membrane + lamellae), custom stainless steel exhaust from cat to the end. I have got chips EDS ph2 but never been in the car, I was waiting for installing bigger IC but it never happen.
I's probably not correct acc.to rule to make advertisement here so I'll probably make it soon in correct chapter
